Hello kids.
I have bad news and good news and even better news.
As the cliché goes, I'll give you the bad news first...
One of my dreams is dying. Its death does not come as a shock, as the dream has been slowly declining for years now. But that final moment, the ultimate point at which there is no turning back, no changing things, is still a difficult one. No matter how long awaited this moment, it is still hard to grasp when it finally comes. Alas, it has come. And I’m still grasping.
My dream of being a web designer has come to an end. My final client has placed an ad for my replacement. With that client gone, I will have lost touch with all commercial applications for my design services. I will only “be” my current job, which I don’t want to “be”. A new season of soul searching has begun; stay tuned for more.
Now for the good news…
I can’t cope without a creative outlet… the creativity will squirt out of me somewhere (ewww). So, I’m going to point it in the direction of this blog. I plan to maintain a tenuous connection with the dream world of Dreamweaver, the flashy world of Flash via the wacky world of eckleburg. My previous clients paid me in cash and checks... eckleburg will pay in denominations of a much more interesting variety.
And now for the even better news…
Hi, I’m grubelkce (pronounced gruble-cake). I am eckleburg’s better half, the wind beneath his wings, the apple of his eye, his girl with the short skirt and long jacket.
