ECKLEBURG 2003-12-21 - 10:47 a.m. It has been a while since writing, and I am now trying to think of all the fun and hilarious things that have happened since the last update. First, we had our first movie theater experience in VA. We got to go see a sneak preview of Lord of the Rings on tuesday night, a full 4.5 hours before anybody else got to. Unfortunatly, the theaters in VA, at least the one's we have located, are all of the built-in-the-70's variety -- which means no stadium seating and a screen that isn't all that big compared to many people's home entertainment options. Also, the sounds systems could not quite handle all the glorious volume and intensity of the high points of the movies. This meant that as charachter A told character b something really moving, the sound warped, creating uintentionally funny scenes in the middle of battles, etc. Nothing beats a character telling a character "I love you," than a character telling a character "I loouuuoorrremmeeeeooouuuuvvvee Yooooouuuuuuuuuu." I will also say that if you are a movie theater, and you know that a company has given 300 employees tickets to see a movie, and also has given the same 300 employees a coupon for a free popcorn and coke, that you should expect to need around 300 popcorns and 300 cokes. This would hopefully allow you to predict your supply needs to deliver 300 of said products. But this is not the case, and the line needs to sporadically stop and wait for supplies. Further, if all 300 people are in a single line, and the first 167 people have asked for a free popcorn and a free drink, person 168 is also going to ask for a popcorn and a medium drink, which would allow you to anticipate such a request by just having the popcorn and drink right there on the counter waiting, and thus saving you the time to ask what person 168 wants, convey this information to the popcorn popcorn scooping person who is waiting for your command to decide if he should scoop popcorn for the next person or not, and then repeat the same excersize for drink pouring person, also patiently waiting for commands about what person 18 might want. This would hopefully allow you to predict your supply needs to deliver 300 of said products. As the official person 168, I can tell you that this use of predictive reasoning is not alive in Virginian movie theaters yet. ABQ movie theaters 1, VA movie theaters o. Other than this we had a great time and loved the movie quite a lot.
